Tiger Woods’ ex drops $30 million lawsuit against estate pending NDA appeal outcome

Erica Herman withdrew her $30 million lawsuit against the Tiger Woods estate pending the outcome of an appeal of a judge’s order to dismiss a separate lawsuit she filed to invalidate an NDA she signed in 2017.

The NDA’s appeal was still pending.

The case against the Jupiter Island Homestead Irrevocable Trust has been recorded as closed, according to court records in Martin County, Florida.

“Plaintiff, ERICA HERMAN, through her undersigned attorney, hereby dismisses without prejudice her Complaint, filed on October 26, 2022, pending resolution of the appeal in Herman v. Woods and determination of whether their claims are subject to arbitration.” the court document said.

Herman’s lawsuit alleged that Woods violated the Landlord-Tenant Act when they separated, saying he allegedly tricked her into leaving her home on the island of Jupiter and that it was subsequently closed. It was the first time anyone had publicly learned that Woods and Herman had broken up.

Herman claimed that she and Woods entered into an oral lease agreement giving her the right to live in the house and that she had five years of oral lease remaining when they separated.

Before the firing, Herman filed another appeal to force the judge to strike down the NDA on the grounds that Woods sexually harassed her. The judge previously ruled that the allegations of sexual misconduct had been “vague and overwrought.”

“Herman has had the opportunity (to) provide factual specificity for any claim related to sexual assault or sexual harassment, however, he has not done so,” Circuit Judge Elizabeth Metzger wrote in an 11-page opinion in May.

Herman started working at Woods’ restaurant in 2014 and the two began dating in 2017.
