Advances in technology have allowed those seeking extra income to obtain it renting out their house while they are away for a few seasons. One of the platforms for this is Airbnb.

Currently, the option has been enabled so that hosts can offer a single room or the entire space without the need to have a property exclusively for rent.
By 2022, Airbnb figures showed that Bogotanos who shared their spaces earned an average profit of $1,274. That is, almost 6 million Colombian pesos.
Also, most hosts claimed to use Airbnb to earn extra income and pay bills or save for the next vacation. In the case of Colombia, 62% of those surveyed indicated that they used the extra income to pay for food and other items that have become more expensive.

Another of the platforms that this oroption is the Jalo web portal, which for now offers seasonal rental properties in Bogotá and Medellín. This is an alternative for investors.
