Netflix to Lose NBC’s Hit Medical Drama Series new amsterdam in dozens of regions next month when it expires on February 15, 2023, but which regions are affected and why is it leaving? We’ll see.
Having wrapped up its fifth and final season on NBC, Netflix users around the world may have been expecting some of the newer seasons to arrive on Netflix soon. After all, most Netflix regions have been streaming seasons 1 and 2 for quite some time.
Instead, we are saddened to say that Netflix is currently scheduled to lose seasons 1 and 2 of new amsterdam mid February 2023.
For those unfamiliar, New Amsterdam, created by David Schulner, is a medical drama series starring Ryan Eggold as Dr. Maximus «Max» Goodwin, a new medical director hired to help save New Amsterdam Medical Center.
This removal does not apply to all regions, only those that have been airing the show for some time.
Here’s the list of confirmed regions currently seeing New Amsterdam takedown notices on Netflix, courtesy of Unogs:
- netflix spain
- netflix canada
- Hong Kong
- South Korea
Most European regions don’t show a takedown notice, except for the UK, which isn’t available anyway.
We should note at this point that its removal date is highly irregular and doesn’t seem to answer to when the show was added to Netflix in these regions.
This could indicate that a license renewal is coming up soon, and Netflix may choose to renew and add additional seasons. However, since a removal date is currently displayed, we must report it as a possible removal. Watch this space.
