LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers pulled away from the Memphis Grizzlies late in the fourth quarter to win Game 1 of their first-round matchup in the NBA Playoffs, 128-112, on Sunday afternoon.

James finished with 21 points on 8-for-16 shooting with 11 rebounds for a double-double in his first-round return after missing the playoffs altogether last season. He also had five assists, as well as two steals and three blocks to help out on the defensive end.

But James wasn’t the Lakers’ leading scorer. Rather, Rui Hachimura ran out of lights from the ground from three points to total 29 points on the day. Most of his points also came in the second half, as he relied on Hachimura to hit his open 3-pointer, and he did.

As for the Grizzlies, all eyes are on star point guard Ja Morant after he suffered what appeared to be a gruesome hand injury on a dunk attempt on Davis in the fourth quarter.

Morant, who finished the game with 18 points, went down hard on the court after being called for a charge on Davis when he went airborne for the dunk. As he went down, Morant tried to support himself with his hands, and the fingers of his right hand appeared to curl back in the video playback.

He was on the court in pain before getting up and running to the locker room. Nothing has been said yet about her condition.

With Morant out for the rest of the game (he was returning to the bench with a black ribbon in his hand but never registering), the Grizzlies looked elsewhere for crucial baskets.
