Chevron Colombia announced the completion of the adjustments to its infrastructure at the fuels of san andres to respond to the requirement of the national government to provide a fuel blended with ethanol on the island, which is more friendly to the environment.
This project featured some investments of the oil company in the island of 1.3 million dollars in tank adaptation works, pumping systems, among others.

island continue to have the fuel required to meet the needs
Additionally, to guarantee the aircraft fuel supply reliability and continue offering a top quality service in accordance with international standards, Chevron has renewed its fleet of refuelers (tanker trucks for aircraft), acquiring new equipment for 1.2 million dollars.
In addition to the investments in works that are being completed, the company has an additional investment plan of close to 3 million dollars in the next seven years.
“This will guarantee that the island continues to have the fuel required to meet the needs in the sectors of trade, aviation and shipping“said the operations manager of Chevron Colombia, Juan Afiuni.
Added to this, investments were made for the acquisition of properties to maintain the reliability of airport operations.

In the coming weeks we will launch a new educational program with
the support of the Game and Childhood Corporation
Chevron, in alliance with the Juego y Niñez Corporation and the Government of San Andrés, has also worked for education on the Island, annually benefiting 2,000 children of the playroom program.
In line with that purpose, in the coming weeks a new educational program with the support of the Juego y Niñez Corporation to implement a methodology in which children and adolescents develop socio-emotional skills, citizenship skills and creativity.
In addition, as explained by Alejandro Riveros, Chevron’s manager of Corporate Affairs for the issues of San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina, a draft of violence prevention for children on the island.
This is in addition to the fact that in the first week of May a new project to strengthen the participatory monitoring of coral reefs in Colombia, through the Reef Check citizen science program. This will be done through the sponsorship of expeditions in Providencia and Santa Catalina.
This year the laboratory for the asexual and sexual propagation of corals for restoration purposes will also be strengthened. In addition, work is being done on increasing the technical capacity for the laboratory and genetic bank, as well as on the education of 1,000 children of the island for the care of the reefs.
