Nearly five months after his cardiac arrest on the field during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin appeared at team practice Tuesday.
While Hamlin was on the field, he was not a complete participant.
Video on social media shows Hamlin engaging in some individual exercises without wearing a helmet.

«He hasn’t been practicing,» Bills coach Sean McDermott said. «We’re just going to keep taking it one day at a time and just support damar in every possible way.
«I’m not going to go into details, where he is at what time, but he’s in the building working and taking things one day at a time.»
During «Monday Night Football» on January 2, Hamlin collapsed to the turf following his tackle at wide receiver for the Bengals. tee higgins and CPR was administered before an ambulance took him to the hospital.

He was released from the University of Cincinnati Medical Center almost a week later before heading to another hospital in Buffalo.
In mid-April, Hamlin was cleared for football activities, with Brandon Beane, general manager of the Bills saying that three specialists came to the same conclusion.
«He’s seen three additional specialists, most recently on Friday, and they’re all on board,» Beane said. «It’s not two-on-one, or three-on-one. Everybody’s aware of what this was and that he’s cleared to resume full activities with him, just like anyone else coming back from injury or whatever.»
Hamlin told reporters that he suffered commotio cordis in the tackle.

«The diagnosis of what happened to me was basically commotio cordis. It’s a direct hit to a specific point on the heartbeat that causes cardiac arrest,» Hamlin told reporters after he was cleared for football activities.
«And five to seven seconds later, you fall… Commotio cordis is the leading cause of death for young athletes in all sports. So, that’s something I’m personally going to take a step to make a change on. Also, with That being said, all the awareness around CPR and access to AEDs has brought that number down as well.»
Hamlin was named the recipient of the 2023 George Halas Award last week, an annual award given to an NFL player, coach or staff member who overcomes adversity to succeed.
